Experience Through Their Eyes

Please make sure to at least READ THIS.... The BEST Irish Coffee I ever had...bar none... as Ted, the proprietor/head waiter/maitre'd/bartender, told me, an old secret family recipe from Donegal, Ireland (he refused to let me in on the secret...but I tried my best to get it out of him). After a day of skiing, nothing could have been better....it really hit the spot!! For the LIFE OF ME...I can't figure out why this place wasn't PACKED on a Friday night (or any night for that matter). By the time I finished dinner, I said to myself, "if this place were near me, I would be here every night"...I'm not sure how I could give it a better recommendation than that! The Irish Coffee was just a tease of how great the food was here... My girl and I wanted to keep it simple (we were weary after a long day in the Shawnee slopes) so we had a cheesesteak and fries (which was terrific), but after seeing how much we enjoyed his Irish Coffee, we trusted Ted and he suggested a one of his specials, flatbread with Spinach, Garlic and Mozzarella, and it was fantastic!!! I have a few more days reserved this year for ski outings and I don't need to wonder where to go for food next time. I definitely plan on stopping there again... for the food AND the great service. Thanks TED!!!!

We were only in town for 2 nights and we ate there both nights. We were greeted by Ted, who works the bar and the dining area. I asked for his thoughts on what to order. He recommended the Sauteed Seafood with garlic cream sauce. I do not normally like any cream sauce but I decided to trust him. My wife ordered the Steak Bomb Sub. Both were amazing! Also very good service during the entire meal. The second night we ordered the Chicken Parm and the Chicken Marsala. The Marsala was good but the Parm was amazing. Again, great service. Very good food and service but I'll go there on every visit back to PA just because of Ted. He makes you feel like you are his lifelong friend.

My first time going to "The Roasted Tomato" was very good, The customer service was top notch. Ted the Bartender/Waiter was amazing he made us laugh every time we came in, we either had a drink at the bar or we dinned in with the family and he can hold a good conversation. And if your not sure what to eat or drink Ted will recommend something good for you. The food was great. Tim the cook had the food coming out Hot unlike some restaurants you go to and the food is lukewarm. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and Delicious! We couldn't stop complimenting the cook Tim on how good the food was. So if your in town for the weekend and your staying at the Quality Inn or if your a local who lives in the area please stop in to see Ted and Tim at "The Roasted Tomato"

We ordered Irish coffee, and it was amazing -- it warmed us up from the inside on that chilly winter day. Ted told us it's made from his family's recipe. We once tried Irish coffee at the world-famous Buena Vista in San Francisco, and Ted's tastes just as good!Ted was incredibly friendly and caring, the place felt cozy and peaceful inside. He gave us great recommendations on what to eat, and everything was delicious. We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area.

At first glance I didnt expect much. I dropped my bag off at my room. Then headed for dinner at the restaurant. I grabbed a seat at the bar/counter and ordered the chicken marsala. The waiter/bartender is a fellow named Ted. He didnt try to sell the menu to me, which I guess he knew how good the food was. I cleaned up. He then followed with a desert option for which I settled for the bread pudding; heavenly when served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So, there's no way I couldn't give less than five stars. Great service and really good food. I had two beers, a salad with the entree, and the desert all under $50. My next stay in these parts will definitely be within reach of the Roasted Tomato.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything, from the small, but super fresh salad bar, including lovely pasta salads and 2 homemade soups. Then we shared crab stuffed shrimp like you'd only get oceanside, and a perfectly cooked and seasoned steak. This handsome chef is raising the bar here, and you really must check out this up and coming restaurant gem!
